Dance India Dance Little Masters + Beautiful Children + Quotes about children

Dance India Dance is now holding auditions for the little ones! It's such a delight to watch, really. The kids are so wonderful, so innocent, and very very talented!

There was especially this girl named Vaishnavi Patil who performed an Indian classical dance. She was mindblowing. Check out her performance.

Another boy, named Rohit Sawant, brought tears to the judges' eyes as well as mine. He's a wonderful child. He was accompanied by his mother and another guy who has been teaching him to dance (his brother, I think). He performed on the well-known Hindi song, 'Meri Maa'. His mother explained that when he was younger, he fell and hurt his head. The doctor gave him the wrong medicines and because of that, he lost his mental health. He is a beautiful child, and the judges were happy that he had made such an effort. Terrence was happy that someone  was taking the time to teach him how to dance, which might turn out to improve his health. I really do pray that God gives him a good life, and that his health improves. Here is his performance.

It would be wrong to blame the doctor, because he too is human. He is not God. But, on the other hand, if the doctor's medical knowledge is not thorough, his position as a doctor needs to be re-evaluated. This is not the first time such an event has occurred. Personally, I believe more effort needs to be invested in ensuring that society is well-educated and rightly educated in many ways. Behavior, attitudes, spirituality, community, duty, non-violence... It is important to avoid pointing fingers because mistakes happen. Sometimes, things just happen and there's nothing we can do about it. However, there is a Greater Purpose, even though we may not be able to see it.

It's very pleasing to watch these children perform, with the hope and anxiety in their eyes alongside their love for dancing. It's also disheartening, because some of them are not going to make it to the next round. And when children cry, it's heart-wrenching. This little boy who got selected was crying. Everyone asked why he was crying, because he did get selected. What reason did he have to cry?

"Because my friend didn't get selected."

The innocence. The love for his friend. His beautiful little heart.

It's no wonder God loves children so much. Nrishinga Deva stepped out of a pillar, as half-man half-lion to protect Bhakta Prahlad from Hiranyakashipu. Vishnu accepts Dhruva Maharaja's austerity or tapas and appears before him. Lord Krishna appeared in the recent past, to a little girl who was upset because she couldn't chant well. He reassured her, saying in the future when she is older, she will be able to chant better. Nrishinga Deva protected another little girl from being hit by a truck in South Africa. They may not know as much scripture as we do, but their faith and devotion is surely much greater.

"These children are given to us by Krishna, they are Vaisnavas and we must be very careful to protect them. These are not ordinary children, they are Vaikuntha children, and we are very fortunate we can give them chance to advance further in Krishna Consciousness."

- Srila Prabhupada Letter to: Arundhati Amsterdam 30 July, 1972 [Link]

"Let the children alone, and do not hinder them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

- Matthew 18:3    (Bible)
